Gillette is a small Long Hill Township community on the edge of the Great Swamp, and Dave's Heavy Towing offers 24 hour heavy duty towing there. We tow box trucks, dump trucks, buses and tractor-trailers and handle recoveries off the narrow roads.
A live dispatcher answers every call, for towing and for recovery. Call 800-624-6079 and a wrecker starts moving toward Gillette.
Gillette sits near the Passaic River and the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, with winding roads, marshy edges and not much shoulder in many spots. When a heavy truck slides off, it is usually a soft ground recovery, and that takes the right equipment and some patience. We provide it and work to protect the road edge and the surrounding land.
If it is too big or too heavy for a standard tow truck, we tow it in Gillette. Our heavy duty towing services in Gillette include:
When a truck or trailer leaves the road, a tow is not enough. Our heavy recovery services in Gillette include:
We also provide heavy duty recovery across Central NJ, mobile truck repair, mobile crane service, secure storage at our Hillsborough yard and equipment transport in Gillette across Morris County.
Gillette sits next to the Great Swamp, and soft ground is part of nearly every off road recovery here. Dump trucks, landscape trucks and box trucks that get too close to a shoulder can sink quickly, and heavy rain makes it worse. The roads are winding and tree lined, so even simple tows need careful positioning.
In Gillette, the Great Swamp and the Passaic River are the main seasonal factors. Spring thaws and heavy rain raise the water table, soft shoulders appear in minutes, and fall leaves make the winding roads slick. In winter, shaded stretches stay icy long after the sun is out elsewhere.
Tell dispatch the road name and whether the ground near your truck is soft or wet. If the truck is on the edge of a road, tell us which side. We will bring winch equipment and ground protection if needed, and our operators will plan the pull before they hook up.
In Gillette we work the roads that actually serve the area, including Valley Road and the Passaic River corridor. We also respond in nearby Stirling, Millington, Berkeley Heights and Green Village and across the rest of Central NJ.

Many breakdowns can be fixed on the shoulder or in the lot. Our ASE certified mobile technicians handle airline, cooling system, tire and electrical problems and run computer diagnostics, and we only tow if the truck cannot be repaired on site.
