A heavy truck that breaks down in Califon usually means a narrow road and a long way to the next exit. We tow dump trucks, box trucks, buses and tractor-trailers throughout this Hunterdon County borough and the hills around it.
A live dispatcher answers every call, for towing and for recovery. Call 800-624-6079 and a wrecker starts moving toward Califon.
Califon sits along the South Branch of the Raritan River, with the Columbia Trail rail trail running through town and the winding road to Ken Lockwood Gorge just south of it. County Route 513 is the main road in and out, and it is no place for a wide truck to be stuck. Call 800-624-6079 with your nearest cross street and we will bring a wrecker that fits the road.
If it is too big or too heavy for a standard tow truck, we tow it in Califon. Our heavy duty towing services in Califon include:
When a truck or trailer leaves the road, a tow is not enough. Our heavy recovery services in Califon include:
We also provide heavy duty recovery across Central NJ, mobile truck repair, mobile crane service, secure storage at our Hillsborough yard and equipment transport in Califon across Hunterdon County.
The hills along the South Branch of the Raritan River keep Califon's calls interesting. A common job is a dump truck or box truck that has slid off a tight curve on Route 513 and is hanging over the edge, or a school bus stuck on an icy grade. Because the roads follow the river valley, there is often no shoulder and no easy place for a wrecker to set up.
Califon's roads follow the river valley, so fog and frost settle in early, and a fall or spring storm can bring a limb or a washed-out shoulder with it. Summer weekends bring trail visitors and RVs on the narrow roads, while winter ice on the hills makes even a simple climb a hazard for loaded trucks.
Tell us exactly where on Route 513 or the side road you are, and which direction you were facing. If the truck is blocking the road, we will coordinate with local police for traffic control. Our operators will set up the wrecker to protect the road edge and the river bank, and we will talk you through each step if you are on scene.
In Califon we work the roads that actually serve the area, including County Route 513. We also respond in nearby High Bridge, Long Valley, Glen Gardner and Oldwick and across the rest of Central NJ.

Our wreckers, trailers and storage yard are at 87 Old Camplain Road in Hillsborough. Use the map for directions from Califon.
We tow box trucks, cube vans, delivery vans and step vans, including UPS and FedEx style trucks. Our fleet includes medium duty units, so you are not billed for a bigger wrecker than the job needs.
We accept major credit cards, debit cards, cash and several fleet and fuel cards, including EFS, Comchek, T-Chek, TCH and FleetOne. Fleet accounts can be set up for companies that tow regularly.
Call us with the claim details and we will coordinate directly with your insurance company or fleet manager to keep the paperwork moving. We also work with police departments and highway crews on accident scenes.
